CD Surveys Ltd was formed in 1992 and primarily carried out land, topographical, "as built" and building surveys on behalf of Developers, Architects and Consulting Engineers. CD Surveys are based out of the head office in Godalming Surrey with another unproductive office at Sunbury-on Thames, Middlesex.
At present we run 8-9 survey crews with 6-7 CAD technicians operating out of approx. 1000 sq. ft in Godalming. The company has 4 managerial and 5 technical staff available in the office (including a Director) at any one time with 16 field employees consisting of surveyors and assistants. The equipment our surveyors use in the field are at present; 1x Leica GPS 1200 Smart Station system, 3 x Leica 1200 fully robotic survey systems and 7 x Leica TCR1100 series total station systems, again two of which are fully robotic. These systems can also be supported with a Scientific Quality Trimble 4800 and 4000SSI GPS survey system for major works and a Trimble TTS300 total station pulsed laser system theodolite.
Soon after CD Surveys was formed Clients began to request further and more detailed surveys. Over the past 15 years CD Surveys have built up a wide range of Clients which include Developers, Architects, Consulting Engineers, House Builders, Local and County Councils and Government bodies, both here throughout the UK and in Ireland.
We currently have 9 Bespoke work stations, all with double 17" flat screen monitors using various versions of AutoCAD graphics systems and Microsoft Office Pro 2003. The survey processing and digital modelling takes place on either of our 8 Geosite software systems or our two SCC software system based around the Dublin City Council feature libraries for Topographic surveying. We also pride ourselves in providing good after sales service in the form of making sure our client is happy with the results, resolving any queries that arise or any additional work that may be required urgently to complete the project.
Our field crews have Dell Latitude, HP and Packard Bell laptops for downloading/archiving the survey data and processing. The accounts are handled within Sage Line 50 Version 12 Financial controller package and are processed from our office in Sunbury and at the head office in Godalming. We can also transfer our model data as 2D or 3D information to proprietary systems such as Microstation MX, and the PDS design software system. For companies not using a proprietary Modelling system we send out our information as 2D plans in hard copy and in digital form together with Cross and Long Sections of the surveyed detail. Survey drawings are plotted on the Hewlett Packard 4000 design jet AO plotter based in our offices in Godalming.
